What's On My Needles?

Judy, over at Patchwork Times is allowing us to share what's on our needles.

First up are these socks. I worked on them on the last trip to California. The yarn is a bamboo/wool blend dyed by a lady in Sedona, AZ. It's interesting that on the first sock the yarn didn't pool, but on the second one it is pooling. very curious.
Motorcycle Dude had not met his newest grandson, Smiley. They have been introduced, and are now BFFs. Currently they are planning a cross country motorcycle trip. They will however, wait until Smiley's legs can straddle the seat.

It was also Twinkle Toes' birthday. Queen Twinkle Toes had a lovely tea party at Olivia's Dollhouse and Tea Room with all of her princess friends in attendance.

But wait, there's more! This sock is from yarn that I bought in Kansas when I was there for MQS. We had a little field trip one afternoon. It is my responsibility to help keep all yarn and fabric stores in business. I take my responsibilities very seriously, you know. So this yarn came home with me. I am trying Cat Bordhi's Sweet Tomato heel on these.

I also started these when I had some friends over to teach them how to knit socks. I've only gotten the toes done, because I can't decide what I want to do with them.

I also have some Christmas stockings going, but alas, no pictures of them.

So, what are you working on these days?

  1. Just started my first sock. Its a baby sock...all the parts on a smaller project. Great practice for me.

  3. Isn't it strange how yarn pools? I found that with KnitPicks self striping yarn I have to make a smaller sock so I get a really nice spiral pattern from the colors.

  4. Even when I get a nice placement of the colors, the pooling starts over the instep! That's life.

Your yarn is so good looking, I'm sure it is nice a soft too.
