Happy Birthday, Little Man!

Last Tuesday was Little Man's third birthday. His party was on Saturday, and I'm finally getting around to blogging about it Monday.
None of my pictures of him seem to be in focus. He is always in motion. Such a sense of humor in this little boy.

He is going to be such a handful when he is in his teen years and his sarcasm is in full bloom . Good thing his daddy also has a similar sense of humor, and I will sympathize with his mother when he reaches that age.

Happy Birthday, dear one!

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was my youngest grandson's birthday. His party was Saturday. You know how that scheduling thing goes. Doesn't he look sophisticated in his suit vest and tie? He was a little overwhelmed with all the attention. Well, that and wearing big boy shoes.

And as for the design wall? I've put other projects on the back burner while I try to get a couple of baby quilts done. Two babies are due at work, and I need to get cracking to get them done. This one is Chinese Coins. The recent tutorial at Moda Bake Shop inspired me. I'm using a pack from the Eva line, though I think I like the hush-a-bye fabrics better now that I've been putting fabrics together. I may go back and take out the darkest fabrics and just try it with the lighter fabrics. I think that will help, I think.

Birthday Weekend

My daughter and daughter-in-law celebrate their birthdays this weekend. They were born one day apart thirty-one years ago. The cakes aren't fancy. I don't often do fancy, but they are made with love.

Unfortunately, the house was so hot that the frosting started slumping off the lemon cake. I quickly put it in the fridge, but some damage was already done.

On the puppy front, my husband and I had forgotten what it is like to housebreak and train a puppy. We are both exhausted from keeping a vigilant eye on Ginger. I have to be careful with my sewing machine cords. She really, really likes cords, shoe laces and yarn. In the picture what she is really chewing on are the leather laces on top of the slipper.
